06.1995 to 12.1997: Researcher at General Department of Land Administration

01.2000 to 05.2005: Head of Information Technology Division, Centre Information in Hanoi Agricultural University. Participating in the academic research activities in HUA

Researcher, Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development Center (SARDC), HUA, Vietnam. Responsible for developing the Geography Information System (GIS) and integrating GIS in other research projects (2000 - 2005).

Subproject Leader: a National project on Applying GIS to Upland and Mountain Database Management, the Collaborative researching Program on Sustainable Land use and rural development in mountainous regions of Southeast Asia, funded by the Deutsche Forschugsgemeinschaft (DFG), Thailand National Research Committee, and Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology. (2001-2003)

Project Leader Ca River environmental impact assessment, The land cover changes overtime and natural resource management issues in Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong District, Nghe An Province, Project on supporting by Ford Foundation (2003-2004)

08.2005 to 02.2010: Ph.D. student inGeorg August University Goettingen, Germany

04. 2011 up to now: Permanent lecturer in the Department of Land Administration, Faculty of Geography at Hanoi University of Science (HUS). Being a member of the Extended Scientific Committee in Faculty of Geography

Participating in the academic research activities in HUS, VNU and other academic institutes working on the fields of land use planning, natural resources and sustainable land management.

Talking part in the proposal National project  “Developing the Oriented Spatial Planning Region to the West of Hanoi”.

National consulting to UN HABITAT with the Vulnerability and Adaptability Assessment (V&AA) to climate change in Project "An integrated strategy for Eco-city development in Hoi An and Its region"  (2010-2012)

Main staff of research project "Application of remote sensing and GIS with community participation in investigation on environmental change and sustainable development in the Northwest mountainous rural area of Vietnam in adaptation to climate change and natural disaster mitigation" supported by Vietnam National Foundation for Science and technology development (2012-2014)

Main researcher of national project number BDKH32 belong to National target program to respond to climate change  "To study and development a model costal city in Vietnam adaptation with Climate change"  support by Vietnamese Government 2012-2015
